Trump Economy Approval Hits New Low in Fox Poll as Democrats See Midterm Opening
A Fox News poll showing President Donald Trump underwater on the economy is turning into a political warning sign for Republicans ahead of the midterm elections.
Fox reported that Trump’s overall approval fell to 41%, while his approval on the economy hit a new low. The poll also found that 76% of voters viewed the economy negatively, with many saying costs for groceries, utilities, health care and housing had gone up.

The numbers are gaining traction because they come from Fox, a network closely watched by conservative voters and Republican campaigns. Rep. Jim McGovern amplified the poll on social media, arguing that it was politically damaging for Trump when even a Fox poll showed approval that low.
For the midterms, the risk is simple: if voters continue to blame Trump for high prices, Democrats can frame Republican candidates as defending an economy many households say is not working for them.
