Trump Orders Navy Strike Threat as Iran Seizes Ships During Ceasefire
Trump is shifting strategy in the Iran conflict after extending a fragile ceasefire, but the fighting hasn’t truly stopped.
According to AP News and Reuters, the U.S. extended the truce while waiting for Iran to respond to peace proposals. But at the same time, Iranian forces seized ships in the Strait of Hormuz, and U.S. naval operations continue enforcing a blockade.
That contradiction is driving tension. Iran says the ceasefire is meaningless while U.S. restrictions remain, and officials insist the strait cannot reopen under current conditions.

Trump has also escalated rhetoric, ordering the Navy to take lethal action against Iranian vessels suspected of laying mines, according to reports.
Meanwhile, Trump says there is “no time frame” for ending the war, even as negotiations stall and both sides accuse each other of violations.
The result is a conflict that is technically paused, but still actively unfolding, with global oil routes and regional stability at risk.
