Trump Teases Major Speech as Artists Pull Out of America 250 Celebration
President Donald Trump said Saturday that he may deliver a major speech and hold an “America Is Back” rally as part of upcoming America 250 celebrations after several entertainers withdrew from planned Freedom 250 concert events. The proposed rally would coincide with anniversary programming tied to the nation’s 250th birthday and could replace portions of the entertainment schedule if organizers move forward.
Artists including Bret Michaels, Martina McBride, Young MC, Morris Day and The Commodores have publicly backed out, with several saying they were unaware of political associations surrounding the event when they initially agreed to participate.

The dispute comes as Freedom 250 and the White House Task Force 250 oversee a series of national anniversary projects tied to the United States semiquincentennial. Planned events include the Great American State Fair, youth athletic competitions, military celebrations and other large-scale public programs scheduled throughout 2026.
The withdrawals have turned what was intended as a patriotic anniversary celebration into one of the first major political flashpoints surrounding America 250.
