Trump Uses Mail Ballot in Palm Beach While Pushing Ban on Mail Voting
President Donald Trump voted by mail in a Florida election despite continuing to call the same method “cheating,” according to CBS News and multiple reports.
The contradiction is drawing renewed scrutiny as Trump pushes legislation to restrict mail-in ballots nationwide.
Public records show Trump requested and returned a mail ballot in a March special election in Palm Beach County, even though he was physically present and could have voted in person, The Washington Post reported.
Days later, Trump told an audience in Memphis that “mail-in voting means mail-in cheating,” repeating claims he has made for years without evidence, according to CBS News.
The White House defended the move, saying his vote falls under exceptions outlined in the proposed SAVE America Act, which would sharply limit mail voting.
According to Reuters and the Associated Press, election experts say fraud in mail-in voting is rare, further fueling criticism over the gap between Trump’s actions and rhetoric.
The episode is reigniting debate over voting access and election integrity ahead of upcoming elections.
