You are 100% spot on with that comment Nancy. It’s a cliche but I firmly believe in the saying, “you reap what you sow”.
This is simply one more attempt by Trump to intimidate the media generally. Unlike Sheri (sic) Redstone’s pathetic capitulation to Trump over an insupportable charge, A.G. Sulzberger and the wider Ochs-Sulzberger family are unlikely to be intimidated by a bum like Trump who is destined to fail.
If Trump was serious he wouldn’t be asking for the ridiculously absurd amount of $10 billion in damages.
That is the big question. I presume the cost of continuing to pursue is the reason, but the reputational damage and integrity aspect *should* matter more
It seems absurd to suggest this but I wonder if people are being threatened with their own safety as well as the safety of family members. Basic mafia tactics.
First off the courts dont have to accept SLAP lawsuits, their criminal laws against them. Secondly if they do the Times can counter sue on the grounds that it is a SLAP. And third, Trump has no executive immunity as a private citizen, and this lawsuit is based on that. The Times lawyers are savy, and will request disclosure from Trump. There's an exclusive written all over this.
All the evil trump has done, will come back upon him .

Yes, that's crazy. But why are these companies agreeing to a settlement? That looks like a defeat.
Why aren't they fighting to defeat the despicable Trump? Especially when they are law firms.

Thank you, Team Coffman !
