Trump Weighs Strike Options as Iran Says It ‘Will Not Bow’
President Donald Trump has positioned additional U.S. military assets near Iran as tensions escalate, but no strike order has been announced.
The buildup comes amid stalled nuclear negotiations and rising rhetoric between Washington and Tehran, raising questions about whether pressure will translate into military action.
According to Reuters and CNN, U.S. naval forces, including carrier strike groups, have been deployed to the Middle East in recent days. Pentagon officials confirmed the repositioning but stopped short of signaling imminent action.
Steve Witkoff, described in reports as a Trump envoy, told reporters Trump is “curious” why Iran has not “capitulated” under increasing U.S. pressure, according to Yahoo News.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian responded publicly, saying his country “will not bow” to U.S. demands during ongoing nuclear negotiations, The Independent reported.
“Iran will not bow to pressure,” Pezeshkian said.
The military movements come as Trump reportedly weighs limited strike options, though multiple outlets including Reuters report no final decision has been made. Defense analysts note that repositioning assets allows rapid response but does not guarantee engagement.
The standoff matters because even a limited strike could trigger broader regional escalation involving U.S. allies and proxy forces. Energy markets and global shipping routes could also be impacted if tensions expand.
For now, officials indicate planning is ongoing, but diplomacy has not formally collapsed.
The next signal to watch will be whether Washington announces new sanctions, a diplomatic deadline, or authorizes targeted action.
The military assets are in place but the final decision has not yet been revealed.
