I really thought Hollywood would be protesting by now! They have the numbers, they have the $. HOLLYWOOD- get together now! Pick leaders in each film division. Create a fund, and get busy fighting this censorship! Unless you all want to make only John Wayne movies, from now on.

If I can manage to keep myself from crying, I can only say that trump's narrow and myopic view of the arts, means an end of the arts in the United States. His take over of the Kennedy leaves me cold.

So Trump and Musk followed the 2025 playbook after Trump lied as usual and said he wasn’t going to, before the election.

There are several people tracking it and for a plan he's never read, he sure has managed to fulfil huge portions of it and even exceed some of them.

Yes, Trump is wrong and terrible as always, but let's get some perspective here. The vast majority of artists and consumers of art don't care about the Kennedy Center. In fact, it represents what has been wrong with the arts in America...elitism. I am an artist and make my living doing art, however I create are for real people. Those snooty rich people who go to the Kennedy Center just to be seen don't really care about art or music. How many regular people could even afftord a ticket to Hamilton. All those institutions, the NEA and so on only serve the elite and tend to generate art no one cares about anyway. Most of us artists make our are and our living WITHOUT any help or input from the Government. What Trump is doing is obviously stupid and wrong but can we please stop the hand wringing that this is going to affect anyone other than the Leftist elites who most other leftist like myself despise anyway, an maybe start paying attention to art made by the people for the people.

I agree. However as the article states, first they control the art the elite view, then they remove funding from all grants that fund community art, then they control what the masses see (Movies, tv). It is about indoctrination. Hitler did the same thing. Art and culture are intricately and intrinsically linked and they shape social thought and then politics.

The resistance always creates the best art. ;)
