Two Lawyers. One Day. Endless Fallout.
On September 25, 2025, Trump’s legal orbit struck again — disbarring one disciple and indicting one dissenter.
September 25, 2025, will be remembered as a grim milestone in the ongoing saga of law, loyalty, and fallout surrounding Donald Trump.
That morning, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit quietly suspended Kenneth Chesebro, architect of the fake electors scheme, from practicing law in Washington, D.C, the latest jurisdiction to reject his fitness to operate as an officer of the court. Already disbarred in New York for his felony conviction in Georgia, Chesebro’s suspension in the nation’s capital was swift and telling: another Trump-affiliated attorney brought down by the very legal machinery he once sought to manipulate.
But the day wasn’t done.
That afternoon, former FBI Director James Comey — long a foil in Trump’s paranoid imagination — was indicted on charges of making false statements to Congress and obstructing a proceeding. The indictment, pushed by Trump’s Attorney General Pam Bondi and executed by Lindsey Halligan (a former Trump lawyer turned federal prosecutor), was widely seen as political payback. It alleged that Comey misled lawmakers in 2020 about authorizing leaks, a charge the previous U.S. Attorney had refused to bring, and which arrives just as the statute of limitations was set to expire.
So in one day, we saw the two sides of Trump’s legal orbit laid bare:
Act in his service, and you may end up disbarred, indicted, or disgraced.
Refuse to serve him, and you may end up indicted anyway.

Make Attorneys Get Attorneys: Trump’s Legal Fallout Machine
Rudy Giuliani: From “America’s Mayor” to Bankruptcy and Disgrace
Giuliani’s loyalty to Trump earned him media limelight and legal ruin. After leading the false election fraud crusade, he was disbarred in New York for making “demonstrably false and misleading” statements. He now faces civil lawsuits, millions in unpaid legal bills, and reputational collapse.
John Eastman: The Scholar Who Bet on the Coup
Once a respected constitutional law professor, Eastman authored memos laying the legal groundwork for overturning the 2020 election. California’s bar court has recommended disbarment, citing unethical conduct, bad-faith litigation, and a fundamental betrayal of legal norms.
Sidney Powell: Kraken Released, Ethics Revoked
Powell became infamous for her “Kraken” lawsuits — baseless, error-ridden filings alleging a vast global conspiracy to steal the election. She eventually pled guilty in Georgia, cooperated with prosecutors, and remains under intense federal scrutiny. Her legal career is functionally over.
Jenna Ellis: A Tearful Apology and a Tarnished License
Ellis tearfully admitted to spreading lies in court on behalf of Trump. While she avoided disbarment, she was publicly censured in Colorado, and now struggles to reclaim credibility in the legal or political world.
Michael Cohen: The Fixer Who Wasn’t Pardoned
Cohen served Trump for years, handling hush money, threats, and secrets. But when he flipped, Trump refused to pardon him. Disbarred and imprisoned, Cohen emerged as a witness for the prosecution and a warning to others who think Trump repays loyalty.
L. Lin Wood: Loud, Loyal, and Now Legally Retired
Wood promoted conspiracy theories and advocated for the implementation of martial law following the 2020 election. He avoided formal disbarment by surrendering his license in Georgia. It was a quiet exit for someone who once made very loud threats.
Jeffrey Clark: Still Waiting for the Hammer to Drop
Clark, a former DOJ official who drafted letters pressuring states to ignore election results, is facing serious ethics proceedings in Washington, D.C. A recommendation for disbarment hangs over him like a sword.
Comey: The Outlier and the Warning
James Comey didn’t try to help Trump overturn the election. He didn’t push false claims or schemes behind closed doors. He resisted. And now, he’s been indicted in a case driven by Trump’s hand-picked prosecutors and timed with surgical precision.
His indictment sends a message: You don’t need to work for Trump to find yourself in legal jeopardy. You just have to have once stood in his way.
The Bottom Line: In Trump’s Orbit, No Law Degree Is Safe
Whether you’re a loyal foot soldier like Chesebro or a career public servant like Comey, stepping into Trump’s legal universe is a gamble.
Loyalty won’t save you. Giuliani learned that.
Disloyalty will destroy you. Cohen knows that.
And neutrality? Just ask Comey how that’s going.
In Trump’s world, law is not a shield but a test of obedience. And failing that test means you’re either disbarred or indicted.

After what Comey did to HRC right before the 2016 election I'm not a fan. But t-Rump has been telegraphing his "retribution" tour since before his re-election. Let's not forget that he sent a text to Pam Bondi questioning why Comey and others hadn't been prosecuted yet. Next thing you know. BAM! He gets indicted. The case against Comey is a vindictive prosecution. And if I were a betting man I'd say James knew this was coming. And he's got his legal ducks lined up. This is such a waste of taxpayer funds. UGH!!
Great conclusion. Watching this unfold with bated breath
