Virginia Transit Police Arrest Jan. 6 Defendant After Viral Metro Train Videos
A 28-year-old Maryland man once wanted for allegedly touching women’s hair on Washington Metro trains has been arrested, officials now say.
Metro Transit Police identified the suspect as Bryan Betancur of Silver Spring after videos circulating online appeared to show him making unwanted contact with riders aboard a Silver Line train near Clarendon on March 1.

Authorities had issued an active assault and battery warrant and asked the public for help locating him, but MTPD confirmed he was taken into custody late Monday night.
Betancur previously served prison time for participating in the Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol attack and was among defendants later pardoned.
Police continue to review videos and encourage anyone with additional information to reach out to transit authorities.
