The killing of a US citizen was a test to see how far the Lyin' King and his goon squads can really go. Wouldn't be surprised to see a lot more of this type of thing.

Yes - and it is designed to have a chilling effect - if you even think about demonstrating, watching, complaining - this could happen to you. And we are seeing in real-time the creation of an alternate reality where this woman is being erased by the supposed leader of our country.

You lead by example, and this example means that ALL federal law enforcement as defined by the Lyin’ King are allowed to use deadly force AT WILL.

Unfortunately, yes

Which makes me want to demonstrate, watch, and complain even more.

John Kennedy you do not deserve the name. She was not obstructing, she was moving away. The agent was not in danger of being hit by the car. By shooting her the agents obstructed their own operation and by not allowing medical attention immediately when offered compounded the situation. Yes it is a crime to obey a lawful order but when the person is trying to leave and is not endangering the officer as shown by many videos, lethal force is not an option. Taking a picture of the license plate and issuing a ticket or summons is. This was murder.

Except these ice thugs aren't actual law enforcement. They break the law by being there in their masks with no warrants and their masks. Anyone can, and has, wear their "uniform" of a flak jacket and hat that say ICE on them and a mask and carry a gun. You can buy it all except the gun off Amazon with no questions asked. The gun is even easier to buy, especially in the red states. People are damned if they do and it's a human trafficker, especially women, and they're damned if they don't and they have some sort of real authority. With the way they are breaking the law by not identifying themselves, no one knows which is which and the wisest course is to drive to a police station. Even then, I don't think the cops are actually looking at IDs to make sure they re who they say they are. It's ridiculous. ICE is liable to find themselves on the receiving end before long, especially in the conceal carry states.

I am surprised at how differently the video footage can be interpreted. ICE agents are supposedly trained not to approach a car from the front. This ICE agent clearly did not follow that training. Furthermore, he was not run over or injured.

Why are his fatal shots being defended?

paulahik's avatar

I don't think ice agents are trained at all these days.

Mall cops seem to be better trained.

There will be no accountability. There will be no facts. The state will advance the state's narrative - this woman, Renee Nicole Good, is in their eyes, not a human deserving of basic dignity, but an obstacle to their goals - the message is clear: anyone can be erased at any time and nothing will be done.

Agree with your take that this was not a justified shooting. However, you need to correct your statement that the ICE agent who tried to open her door shot her. It was another agent who was initially positioned toward the front corner of her vehicle when he fired the first shot through the lower corner of the windshield and was right next to the car as it was turning away from him when he fired through the open driver’s side window. Pretty clear he was not “rammed” or “run over” as some have claimed. He did not appear injured as he walked toward the vehicle after it crashed and then back to his vehicle and drove away. How he was allowed to leave the scene of an officer involved shooting - with his weapon - is beyond me.

Criminals are always quick to justify their crimes. It's the nature of that beast. People who aren't career criminals and then do something are more likely to admit it and feel guilty when asked because they AREN'T CRIMINALS. People like noem, trump, and all ice thugs ARE CRIMINALS and think like it, thus they will make up reasons to justify their actions as easily as breathing.

Is it not a crime to obstruct a Federal Law Enforcement operation? Is it not a crime to ignore a lawful order from a Federal Law Enforcement officer? Is it not a crime to endanger a FLE officer? I stopped reading you column after reading that one line.

Marie Riverton's avatar

Is a crime that the consequence is death?

paulahik's avatar

Is it not a crime to provide proof you ARE a Federal law enforcement officer? Is it not a crime to shoot an unarmed person? If a cop kills a fleeing suspect and it is discovered they had no weapon, that cop is looked at thoroughly. I've seen the video. It just seemed like she was trying to get out of the way and the agent, as untrained as they obviously are, just opened fire. You don't know if they gave her an order other than to leave, but you'll believe it because the people trying not to get in big trouble are saying they did and you'll suck up anything they'll squirt out and wash your face in it.

Read the accounts with an open mind. Obviously yours stands with violence.
