Student debt, mortgage/rent, taxes, insurance and childcare‼️ Pro-life GOP does not support families! GOP has destroyed America and has contributed to global insecurity! What ignorant fools! The fall of Rome looks trite from this view!
Conservatives and the donor class who controls them only embrace things through a laser focus of the "profit" driven business model. IMO focusing on money that only benefits the wealthy is wrong. The focus should be on the students. Because they and our country will reap the benefits when the population is well educated.
These student loan people are crooks. After paying them back for 26 years every month including during the pandemic they wrote to me and told me that I owed them more than I initially borrowed. I got Stanley Tate the student loan lawyer and got the help the government and Navient wouldn’t give me.
Who could doubt this "efficiency" mandate? After all, the current administration is surely the most educationally challenged of any of recent times. Stupid loves stupid!
How much of the debt is principal and how much is interest? Perhaps we could forgive the interest portion? Maybe removing obstacles to education, including those that only hit after a student is committed, would favor U.S. interests in the world at large. Oh, but we wouldn't want to educate our electorate. They might stop falling for crooked politicians.
Sorry, I do not see why this issue generates so much passion. American taxpayers have agreed to lend any student low interest loans needed to further their education. We don’t ask what their financial condition is, or what school they’re going to, or what their major is.
All we ask is that the student repay the loan when they are done with school. We even provide different repayment schemes to ease the burden of repayment, for example, payments based on income.
It’s unfortunate if your post secondary education did not provide the benefits you hoped for, but you took other people’s money to get that education. Why complain now that you have to pay back the people who loaned you the money?
Almost all of you will receive a lifetime benefit far exceeding your debt burden. You do not have a problem repaying these loans. After all, over half of student debt is held by students who went to graduate school.
If there is a specific issue in the system (for example, for profit schools that focus more on collecting fees than providing an education or fraudulent lending agencies), let’s deal with the specific issues.
But if you borrow money to pay for an education, you should not complain when the rest of us ask you to pay back your loan.

Students who still have college loans to pay need to know this, and we all need to fight back.

I spent some twenty years repaying my student loans. I have no more to say. It was all a great con.
After this goes forward, watch for legislation that those in arrears/default on their loans cannot vote... Wait for it, it's coming.
How about tapping the generous tax breaks from the Big Beautiful instead of hitting those who can least afford it?
"Student debt was sold for years as the price of opportunity"
It was also sold under a predatory "Bait and switch" practice in which the education was promised to make the repayment easy.

Now why would Trump want to make it harder to pay off student loans???? A: He doesn't care.
Trumpty Dumpty & Co all SUCK❗️
It’s unfair to burden those with student loan debt into further pressure over
repayment. In many countries, students that are qualified have free college education.
