One other concern is that our medical system is controlled by insurance or the government which means that when the doctor prescribes a particular treatment - if you can pay for it, you get the treatment; in our system, when the doctor prescribes the treatment, your insurance company or the government (Medicare or Medicaid) can still deny the treatment (because they pay for it) claiming it is excessive or unnecessary - adding a lot of administrative cost to the process. Maybe socialized medicine isn't so bad.
