During WWII the US press cooperated with the "voluntary" code of censorship enforced by the -- It blows my mind to say it -- US Office of Censorship. This was one of the methods used to create and use the world -changing atomic bombs without the knowledge or consent of the American people. The ruse was even more effective after the war. since the press did not write the first draft of nuclear history, they were compelled to repeat and promulgate the history that was drafted by the very stakeholders who created the top-secret, black-budget funded weapon. And we have yet to discuss as a nation the full impact and consequences for both domestic and international security as well as the impact that the secrecy had on our democracy. But one bit of evidence is the fact that Americans seldom discuss or think about nuclear weapons, despite the fact that the nine leading nuclear nations spent over $100 billion dollars on nuclear arsenals in 2024 alone, despite the fact that in January the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists announced that the Doomsday Clock is set at 89 seconds to midnight, closer than at any prior time in history. This, with the current administration having sole launch authority. It is time to wake up. Freedom of the Press is essential not only to freedom but to our very existence.
They want to go back to the old days, when war correspondents obeyed the most moronic censorship, spouted the most appalling propaganda, and ignored little things like incompetent generals, poor medical care, slaughtered civilians, and wars fought to prop up dictatorships.
I read pedo president is not liking that drunkseth made this move on the press without his ok. He's a bit pissed. And for drunkseth to do this is a show of "I'm running this place." Also think he's planning on bombing more frequently. And the name change isn't legal..... so it's still the dept. of Defense. Drunkseth like the "war" name as he considers himself the big back manly man of War. All this shows is he's an insecure little woman abuser who has to act manly. I think he's a closeted gay man!
