The pesticides, cyclobutrifluram and isocycloseram, (when you can’t pronounce the names it’s never a good sign) will be used on crops including romaine lettuce, broccoli, carrots, squash, tomatoes, eggplant, potatoes, oranges, peaches, almonds, grapes, wheat and potatoes. Basically anything we consume.
The Post reports that both compounds meet the internationally recognized definition of PFAS, per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances. They’re chemicals known for their persistence in the environment and resistance to breaking down. (Like forever in the soil so when you plant new crops it’s already there, ready for the next seasons spraying).
Alongside the approvals, the EPA also signaled it intends to relax a rule requiring companies to report all products containing PFAS. So basically spraying it everywhere on all food we consume and any companies making these.. dang no need to let anyone know. Therefore any spill off in the water sewage in order to make these chemicals at the factories oh well it just goes into rivers, streams and oceans and all potable water for us all to have a big gulp of…
“Many fluorinated compounds registered or proposed for U.S. pesticidal use in recent years offer unique benefits for farmers, users, and the public,” EPA spokeswoman Brigit Hirsch told The Post. She drew the short straw….

Joining Kunkler are Nancy Beckand Lynn Dekleva, who were both once directors at the American Chemistry Council, a powerful trade group. Within a month of Kunkler’s taking charge, the EPA sought to lift restrictions on a problematic herbicide that worked against weeds in the field in which it was applied perfectly well, but also had a nasty tendency of drifting to neighboring farms, killing not weeds but crops.
