Money, and lots of it. Magas need to realize a few things before they continue to support this crap: 1. The majority of the detention camps, or, if we call them what they are, stalags, are privately owned. If they're not, they will be. Trump is likely getting bribes and kickbacks, and also has money invested, in these private stalags. These centers need to maintain a certain number of inmates in order to get paid. Trump has likely been paid bribes to make sure they make their quotas. To top it off, these are going to be more lucrative than private prisons since they obviously don't have to spend money on decent food, building and facilities upkeep, bathroom facilities, or medical facilities. 2. Every penny these owners get from their stalags is taxpayer money. Magas don't mind starving children as long as the billionaires get to buy a new jet or a new yacht, I guess. Poor little billionaires. Children don't need food when the oligarchs are going through life with just ten Bentleys, 5 yachts, and 3 jets. Letting illegals leave on their own accord and own dime will save taxpayers billions, probably enough to restore SNAP and the ACA subsidies, if not universal healthcare. So who do you magas really care about? Your family or the billionaires. I know you'll smell burning components as you try to think, but do try, won't you?
This process (detaining immigrants who are leaving on their own) defies logic. It seems like ICE wants to boost its number of detainees, no matter where they find them. The costs of detainment, court time, and eventual deportation are a drain on the federal budget. For heaven's sake, for those who have decided to leave, let them proceed with their journey.
