But, if King George didn’t like a law they passed, he (or the Royal Governor he appointed over that colony) could rescind or override that law. The only difference today is that our “king” sits in the White House instead of Buckingham Palace.

Why can’t they override the veto?
To override the veto we need 2/3 of the House and Senate to vote in favor.
No spine, no balls. Congress could have overridden the veto and chose to do nothing in response.
Trump will be handing out goodies to good boys and girls for the next 3 years. No Republicans will rain on that parade.
