Tony Michaels built The Coffman Chronicle because important work needs a home.
Social platforms can introduce people to an idea, but algorithms change, accounts disappear, search results drift and yesterday’s work is quickly buried beneath today’s feed. A lasting body of reporting, commentary and storytelling cannot depend entirely on platforms controlled by someone else.
It needs a place where people can find it, support it and return to it.
That place is The Coffman Chronicle.
A Public Home for the Work
The Coffman Chronicle began as an independent publication focused on constitutional accountability, concentrated power, democracy, corruption, courts, Congress and the lives of working people.
It also served as the written home behind The Tony Michaels Podcast.
The work has since grown beyond a single podcast. The Coffman Chronicle is now the public home for Tony Michaels’s current programs, American storytelling, constitutional commentary, independent reporting and the archive of the work that came before.
The Chronicle is the house. Five Minutes in America, Along the Way, independent reporting and the archive of The Tony Michaels Podcast are different rooms inside it.
What The Coffman Chronicle Publishes Now
Five Minutes in America
Five Minutes in America is a weekday radio and podcast storytelling series created, written and performed by Tony Michaels.
Set in the fictional town of Coffman’s Landing, the program uses ordinary people and small events to explore larger questions about citizenship, liberty, dignity, memory, community and belonging.

Along the Way
Along the Way is Tony’s weekly program about personal growth, citizenship and building a meaningful life.
Through personal stories and lessons gathered along the road, it examines the choices, failures, relationships and quiet moments that shape who we become.
Independent Reporting and Commentary
The Coffman Chronicle continues to publish reporting and constitutional commentary about power and accountability.
Who holds power?
Who abuses it?
Who profits from it?
Who pays the price?
The publication approaches those questions through the lives of working people and the constitutional responsibilities of citizens and public officials.
The Tony Michaels Podcast Archive
The Tony Michaels Podcast ended regular publication in July 2026 after producing more than 1,100 episodes.
The archive remains available through The Coffman Chronicle as a record of Tony’s political commentary and accountability work. No new episodes are being published under The Tony Michaels Podcast.
What Holds It Together
These projects use different formats, but they come from the same set of concerns:

The constitutional limits placed on government.
The responsibility citizens carry toward one another.
The stories that help people recognize each other before politics teaches them to become strangers.
The Coffman Chronicle exists to preserve those stories and arguments in a place that can be searched, shared, cited and carried forward.
