Today’s clip is important.
Not because it’s about one party.
Because it’s about power.
The FISA fight exposed something I’ve been talking about for a long time: the Great Realignment.
The old political divide is left versus right.
The new divide is this:
Do you want an Article I America, where Congress represents the people and checks the executive?
Or do you want an Article II empire, where presidents, agencies, secret courts, and party leadership tell you to shut up and trust them?
That’s the fight.
And on FISA, the question is simple:
Do we have a Fourth Amendment, or do we have a suggestion box?
A short-term violation of the Constitution is still a violation of the Constitution.
I love this country. That’s exactly why I don’t trust concentrated power.
